Starting a new job
I must say I am extremely excited to begin a new avenue in my career. I am no longer an employee of ChaCha, which has been an exciting and professional growth stepping stone in my web development career. It was awesome working with great people, learning new technologies, and flat out building my skill sets ten fold. In my 3 1/2 years at the company, as well as being one of the original employees, I continued to build on my core skill sets which focus on XHTML and CSS, but I was able to broaden my horizons with working in and around Ruby on Rails, Java, understanding Linux better, working with MySQL more, utilizing the Eclipse IDE, using SSH and PuTTY, doing mockups, functional prototypes, focusing on User Experience (UX), assisting various teams in the organization with UI/UX direction, and the list can go on. During my time at ChaCha, I got exposed and religiously use now, jQuery, which I think is simply a fantastic JavaScript framework.
However, after 3 1/2 years, I felt it was time to move on and forward with a different path and continue focusing on building my skill sets and professional career. Tomorrow, I start my new job that I truly feel will be extremely beneficial to my professional growth and the overall well-being to myself and my family. My role will initially focused on providing mockups, prototypes, user experience/user interface enhancements, and more as the role continues to evolve. I can’t wait.
